Club Membership  If you want to ski at the club, and are not on a lesson, you must be a member.  Either a Full Member or a Day Member: see below for details of the necessary Performance Standard and Prices.  As a member of North Staffs Ski Club you are also a member of Snowsport England, the governing body for the sport.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD  The minimum standard for membership is that the member should be able use the drag lift, to control both speed and direction and do linked turns from the top of the slope.
SKIERS
People who have had our lessons, and reached the standard, will be “signed off” by an instructor prior to becoming members.
People who can ski already will be required to demonstrate that they can perform to the required standard.  If they can’t, they will be required to have lessons.
BOARDERS
People will need to demonstrate full turns - a “falling leaf” (back edge only) is not sufficient.  If they can’t, they will be required to have lessons - elsewhere.  Please note that we have no snowboarding equipment so members will need to bring their own.

Full membership provides an inclusive package of: free recreational skiing, reduced rates for improver lessons, a regular newsletter and entry to social events. 
It can either be purchased either by a one off annual payment or paid monthly by standing order.   Note that there is a minimum of 12 payments each year on any standing order - it is not pay-as-you-go.

Adult £15       Student ** / Junior £10.     You are entitled to ski for the duration of the session on the date of membership.
No Newsletter, no voting rights.    If this membership is converted to Full within one month, £10 per adult or £5 per Student / Junior will be taken off the cost of that membership.

Note: All prices include boots and skis.  However, you will be required to bring a pair of gloves and wear long sleeves at all times.  You are recommended to wear waterproof trousers or tracksuit bottoms that go over the boots.
