You will need Gloves, long sleeves (whatever the weather), baggy trousers that will go over the boots (preferably waterproof) and a warm waterproof jacket for when it is cold, raining or snowing.
Getting started For beginners we operate a programme of ski instruction taking the form of four 1.5 hour lessons over a four week period. (6 x 1 hour lessons for juniors aged 6 - 8 on Sunday mornings - N.B. minimum age is 6). These aim to take beginners from never putting a pair of skis on their feet to a snowplough turn standard and the ability to use the ski tow, thus enabling them to become members and use the slope safely for recreational skiing. If the basic 4 / 6 lessons is insufficient then additional lessons may be purchased until the standard is reached. These courses must be booked in advance, please call for availability. Max 8 in a class. Evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Getting Better For club members we also run “basic improver” and “intermediate improver” lessons. These are 1 1/2 hour lessons aimed at eliminating bad habits and improving your technical skiing ability, which will allow you to cope with more varied ski conditions. Again these need to be booked in advance. Max 4 in a class. Evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Taking you further On selected evenings, we will be running four week Academy sessions, focusing on specific topics e.g. bumps, carving and all terrain. They will run on four consecutive weeks for a maximum of 5 persons and are chargeable to all members including instructors.
Other lessons For Non-members, one-off lessons and group bookings can be arranged to suit the individual or group requirements. Please call the ski-centre for further details
