Welcome:  We have taught hundreds of people to ski at Kidsgrove over the years and we are known for our friendly instructors and coaches who are here because they are dedicated to help our customers and members.  See below how we can help you, whatever your current level.

Sorry, but we do not do snowboarding lessons.

Please note that all lessons need to be booked via the telephone (01782 784908), when we are open, or in person at the ski centre.   No bookings can be taken on-line or via e-mail.
Payments by cash or cheque.  Cheques made out to:  North Staffs Ski Club Ltd   please.
There is also a card facility.
Our team of volunteer ski instructors is qualified by and registered with Snowsport England.

You will need

Gloves, long sleeves (whatever the weather), baggy trousers that will go over the boots (preferably waterproof) and a warm waterproof jacket for when it is cold, raining or snowing.

Getting started

For beginners we operate a programme of ski instruction taking the form of three 1.5 hour lessons over a three week period.  (4 x 1 hour lessons for juniors under 11 on Sunday mornings - N.B. minimum age is 6).  These aim to take beginners from never putting a pair of skis on their feet to a snowplough turn standard and the ability to use the ski tow, thus enabling them to become members and use the slope safely for recreational skiing.  These courses must be booked in advance, please call for availability.  Max 8 in a class.

Getting Better

For club members we also run “basic improver” and  “intermediate improver” lessons.  These are 1 1/2 hour lessons aimed at eliminating bad habits and improving your technical skiing ability, which will allow you to cope with more varied ski conditions.  Again these need to be booked in advance.  Max 4 in a class.

Going further

On Mondays, we will be running four week Academy sessions, focusing on specific topics e.g. bumps, carving, all terrain and freestyle (with luck). They will run on four consecutive Mondays for a maximum of 5 persons and are chargeable to all members including instructors.

Other lessons

For Non-members,  one-off lessons and group bookings can be arranged to suit the individual or group requirements.  Please call the ski-centre for further details
